Conto e ouço histórias; logo, existo

No mês passado ouvi um podcast novo chamado “S-Town” (em inglês). Foram sete episódios de 1 hora de duração cada, todos lançados de uma só vez, como uma série da Netflix. Dá pra ouvir tudo numa sentada só ou ir degustando aos poucos. Só que é um programa de não-ficção pra rádio. De altíssimo nível, a propósito, tanto editorial quanto de produção e narração. Entrevistas são entrecortadas por músicas, com uma harmônica edição de som e, sobretudo, há ritmo. A história guarda um mistério e, portanto, a ordem em que as informações são apresentadas e por quanto tempo sustenta-se o suspense são elementos fundamentais. Caso contrário, o ouvinte perderia o interesse, faria outra coisa, não ouviria o resto. Como um leitor que se entendia com um thriller mal-escrito.

Uma mulher, Dot Fisher-Smith

Semana passada fui à ocupação do Movimento dos Trabalhadores Sem Teto (MTST) na Av. Paulista e fotografei algumas mulheres dali, uma ideia que venho trabalhando (falei sobre isso nesse texto). Uma delas, que não quis ter sua foto tirada, me perguntou porque eu só fotografava mulheres. Respondi que os homens já ocupam muito espaço, em todas as esferas. Ela esboçou um princípio de sorriso, triste. “É. Quem toca a vida são as mulheres mesmo”. Concordei com a cabeça e imediatamente lembrei-me do que me disseram certa vez: “você só pode ter sido criada por um matriarcado. Tem uma força aí que é do feminino”.
